ఈ వినాయకుడు ఎవరో గుర్తుపట్టరా ??

 Vinayaka Chavithi

 Ganesh Chaturdhi

"I don't think I will ever retire, but gradually like Amitabh Bachchan.” - Nagarjuna Akkineni

Nagarjuna Akkineni the dashing and debonair actor of Southern cinema turns 55 today. Raaga.Com wishes him birthday greetings and grand success in future.

Nagarjuna Akkineni is on sky nine thanks to the success of his just released Telugu family-comedy "MANAM", which also features his late father Akkineni Nageswara Rao and son Akkineni Naga Chaitanya. Readers may recall in the early 70’s Bollywood Showman Raj Kapoor had the privilege of making a film with his father (Prithiviraj Kapoor) and son Randhir Kapoor in the movie KAL AAJ AUR KAL.

Elated at the success of the movie, Nagarjuna Akkineni in an interview said, "I am obliged to my director Vikram, for the movie’s success. In addition I also thank Vinod, Harsha, Anoop, Rajeevan, Nalini, Chuniya and all the MANAM team for this classic.” He also thanked his niece Supriya for her services in the making of the film.”

Speaking about the movie MANAM he said, “The movie his very close to my heart because it is my dad’s last film. Hence I gave the director Vikram a free hand to focus on each and every scene sensibly and give me a well cut diamond film. Thankfully Vikran did and has lived up to my expectation of the audience as well.”

Recalling about the dedication of his father to the film Nagarjuna said, “I know my dad’s devotion for his films but what touched me most was that despite being operated and advised by doctors for complete bed rest, he rebelled and turned up at the studio to complete the remaining three days of the shoot of MANAM.”

He added, “He even insisted on finishing the dubbing as well, because he was afraid the tone of his voice might change. Watching his commitment has been overwhelming."

Nagarjuna, fondly called Nag, by his fans, turns 55 today. He may have turned a year older, but he says: "Retirement is the last thing on my mind."

"I don't think I will ever retire, but gradually like Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), I will think of doing different kinds of roles. I will slowly start taking up roles where I don't have to singlehandedly take the burden of a film on my shoulders like I'm doing now as a hero," he said.

Recently Nagarjuna has given his nod to film maker Ram Mohan (producer of UYYALA JUMPALA). The movie is directed by a debutant director Kalyan and will have Nagarjuna playing a dual role. It features Ramya Krishna, with whom Nag has given hit movies like SANKEERTANA, IDDARU IDDARE, CRIMINAL, GHARANA BULLODU, HELLO BROTHER, ANNAMAYYA, to name a few. The other heroine is being finalized.

Bollywood stars devotion for Lord Ganesha

Deva Ho Deva Ganapati Deva

Tumase Badhakar Kaun

Swaami Tumse Badhakar Kaun….

True words because Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed God is indeed the supreme God of all. He is believed to be the remover of obstacles and the God of beginnings and wisdom. Each year Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated with great passion and fervor in India, particularly in Maharashtra, where freedom fighter Lokmanya Tilak began this festival to bring unity in diversity to fight the British and usher in freedom.

Like the rest of Maharashtra, Bollywood too celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi with same devotion and fervor. From the great Raj Kapoor to his great grandson Ranbir Kapoor, the Kapoor Khandaan has been an avid devotee of Lord Ganesha. Each year a huge idol of Lord Ganesh is brought at Raj Kapoor’s RK Studio in Chembur, Mumbai and later on the immersion day immersed with pomp and spectacle.

Besides the Kapoor Khan, actor Nana Patekar is also known for his devotion for Lord Ganesha. During the 11 days of the festival Nana is known for quitting his entire shooting schedules and all important assignments as he devotes passionately in the devotion of Lord Ganesha. From bringing the sacred idol to decoration and taking its care for 11 days Nana Patekar, himself, supervises all the rituals and traditions.

Among the other staunch devotees of Lord Ganesha in Bollywood include actors Jeetendra, Govinda, Rakesh Roshan just to name a few.

What’s amazing is that even Muslim stars like Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are great devotee of Lord Ganesha. Though many Muslim fundamentalist leaders did raised objections and passed Fatwa against Salman Khan and Shah Rukh, but the actors paid no heed. Both the actors are true secular and as they celebrate Idd with passion, they also celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with same compassion.
