Bollywood’s satirical comedy BANGISTAN lands in a soup in Pakistan

Eminent producer Ritesh Sidhwani, who made the super -hit Aamir Khan film DIL CHAHTA HAI is back with his latest satirical comedy BANGISTAN. However the movie has landed in a soup in Pakistan as the trailer of the film has touched the sentiments of the Pakistan government and they have declared to ban the film in Pakistan.

Stunned at the move Ritesh Sidhwani addressing media said, “I am shocked at the strange decision by the Pakistan government because one cannot judge a film’s content on the basis of a trailer.”

He added, “A trailer is bound to show a conflict and tension to generate curiosity among the viewers hence taking a decision of banning a film on grounds of trailer is baseless.”

Briefing about his film Sidhwani said, “I have created a fictional country called BANGISTAN which has its own passport, national flag and its own position on the world map. We have created a different world where people of all castes live in harmony and how two suicide bombers, Hafeez Bin Ali Ishwarchand Sharma (Riteish Deshmukh) and Allah Rakha Khan Praveen Chaturvedi (Pulkit Samrat), are brainwashed to create terror. However during their mission the duo realizes the futility of terrorism and exposes their masterminds.”

“Thus the movie is a sensitive comedy that brilliantly brings home the naked truth about how youth in India and Pakistan are brainwashed and enticed to join terrorism. The movie exposes the real faces of fundamentalists and political groups igniting terrorism by misguiding the youth in both the country,” he informed.

Ritesh Sidhwani has therefore written a letter to the Pakistan High Commission to send him an invitation letter so that he can show the movie to prove that it is not ‘anti-Pakistan’ but an eye opener against terrorism.

Bigg Boss season 8 contestant Nigar Khan weds her Pakistani Boyfriend

While on one hand India and Pakistan are at loggerheads thanks to Pakistan continuing attacks on our borders; on the other hand Bollywood is all out wooing Pakistan and trying to bridge a union between the two nations.

After Salman Khan’s BAJRANGI BAHIJAAN sending a message of communal harmony to our neighboring nation, now it’s Indian actress Nigaar Khan, who rose to fame with her appearance in Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss season 8 got married to her Pakistani boyfriend this week.

According to reports Nigaar Khan, sister of Gauahar Khan, a popular television actress and supermodel married Khayyam Sheikh, a Pakistani national businessman who is settled in Abu Dhabi on July 23 in Dubai.

Bidding goodbye to Mumbai, Nigaar told media, “I knew that if I have to ever move out of India then the guy would have to be really worth it. Thank god Khayyam is that kind of person, whom I have been dating since long. I have found in him my dream man.”

Insiders reveal Nigaar's wedding was a close, intimate affair with only close friends and family from both sides attending the wedding. The family had organized the mehndi and sangeet ceremonies a day before the wedding.

Nigaar’s sister Gauahar Khan was by her side. She reached Dubai, despite the numerous problems she faced to reach the location.

While Nigaar looked like a princess on her D-day, her sister Gauahar too looked drop-dead-gorgeous. Gauahar donned an icy blue lehenga with golden embellishment for mehendi. For the wedding, she wore a pink and golden lehenga.

Though the wedding was a family affair but reports have it a grand reception in Mumbai is soon expected.

Gauahar Khan is quite excited about the wedding and kept everyone hooked by sharing photographs of the wedding ceremonies on the micro-blogging site.

Can BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN help in bringing the leaders of India and Pakistan closer?

Mile sur mera tumhara to sur bane hamara…

(When mine and yours tone get along, only then can we have our harmony)

This nation song that was written to revitalize national integration among Indians, today, ironically, serves more better with Salman Khan’s movie BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN spreading communal harmony not only in India but even in Pakistan.

One hopes the movie inspires the leaders of both the countries to nullify the misunderstanding and live peacefully.

Since time immemorial art has played the best role to bring the two nations closer, more particularly the film folks, who have been the front-runners in uniting the two neighboring countries.

Raaga.Com picks five best films that tried to sow seeds of friendship between India and Pakistan.

DHARAMPUTRA

This B.R.Chopra’s thought provoking movie took the fundamentalist organizations with their horns, who instead of sowing seeds of human virtue, impart communal hatreds in their cadets. The movie won the best national award for its national integration theme.

HEENA

This R.K. film had the sensitive love story of a Pakistani girl who sacrifices to unite the hero to her Indian bride was quite moving and an idol step into bridging coordinal harmony among the so called arch rivals.

SARFORASH

SARFOROSH, this Amir Khan film, ripped apart the pseudo rosy relationship between India and Pakistan with Pakistan fostering a proxy war against India through its intelligence agency, ISI. The message of the movie was marvelous Friendship tours, cultural exchange is alright, but one should curb the hatred, suspicion and distrust among the two nations.

REFUGEE

This J.P.Dutta’s movie spreading the message of Insaniyat (Humanity) through its Love Story between an Indian boy marrying a Pakistani girl had thought provoking message particularly the climax scene between the Military officers of the rival countries wondering "Can't we all just get along?"

GADAR-EK PREM KATHA

The Partition has long since been a subject for passionate film-making. But very few films can actually claim to have captured the horror objectively and well. GADAR - EK PREM KATHA is a surprise - because it captures the horror of partition beautifully as few dared have. The fiery pro-Hindustan speeches by Sunny Deol form the crux of the movie. EK PREM KATHA comes close to it being fantastic in taking across the message of communal harmony.

BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN’s baby Harshaali begins displaying star tantrums!

Remember Darsheel Safar the ‘wonder kid’ who took the film buffs and the film critics alike by surprise with his mindboggling performance of a learning disability kid in Aamir Khan directed film TAARE ZAMEEN PAR (2007)?

Like Darsheel Safar, Harshaali Malhotra aka Munni from BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN has won the same laurels and is looked upon as the future star.

However the similarities between the two ‘star kids’ does not end hear. Like Darsheel Safar, who after the movie’s success had declared himself as the star of the movie and had began behaving like a star likewise reports have it that Harshaali’s parent have began showing tantrums of star.

According to reports the parents of Harshaali have declined the lucrative offer of Salman Khan’s next big movie PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO being produced by Sooraj Barjatya film citing the movie has a minor role.

Confirming the news Harshaali’s mother said, “Yes it is true I have opted out my daughter Harshaali from PREM RATAN DHAN PAYO because it was a very small role.”

She added, “After Harshaali playing the lead role in BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, I do not want my daughter to reduce to one of those kids who would end up playing the childhood roles. Instead I would want my daughter to do key roles in big banner movies.’

“Doing tit bits role will ruin her status. I won't let her just do a five-minute role playing someone's childhood character. It does not make any sense now," she quipped.

Like Harshaali’s mother same was the attitude of Darsheel Safar’s parents and the result was after TAARE ZAMEEN PAR he was not able to give any significant film and was compelled to quit film industry.

One wonders is Harshaali’s mother’s making the same mistake because it is a known fact that in Bollywood there is very little scope for child actors!
