Sonakshi Sinha admires South Film Industry

Hot and sensuous DABANGG girl, Sonakshi Sinha, in a short span of just four years has made a remarkable place in Indian film industry. Beginning her career with super duper hit film DABANGG opposite Salman Khan, Sonakshi Sinha, daughter of shot gun Shatrughan Singh has an incredible record giving a row of hits like in Bollywood like DABANGG, ROWDY RATHORE, SON OF SARDAAR, DABANGG 2 etc.

After Bollywood, Sonakshi Sinha is now becoming a craze in South film Industry. She has been signed opposite South’s most sensational star Rajnikant in the Tamil film LINGAA. Speaking about Southern film industry in an interview she recently confessed, “I have been offered several films from South ever since my debut Bollywood film DABANGG became super hit. However I had to decline many lucrative offers from South due to my prior commitments to Bollywood filmmakers.” She added, “However when I got the offer to act opposite Rajnikant sirji in Tamil film LINGAA, I could resist.

 Admiring the disciple and the professional working patter of South film industry she said, “South Indian film industry is more fast, creatively innovative and rich in every department.”


Elated at her destiny to make her debut in South film industry alongside South superstar Rajnikant she exclaimed, “I am really fortunate because in Bollywood I made my debut opposite Bollywood Superstar Salman Khan and now in South I making my debut opposite South Super star Rajnikant, incredible indeed!”

Speaking about Rajnikant she says, “Rajni sir is like a Demi God in South yet he so humble and down to earth. I was really dumbfounded at his modesty and his benevolence with which he greets everyone.” 

Few may know that Rajnikant has a great reverence to Sonakshi Sinha’s father Shatrughan Singh because during his hey days Rajnikant idolized Shatrughan Singh and blatantly adopted his  style of lighting cigarette and  his imperial attitude that made Rajnikant a star in South Indian film industry.  On being quizzed does she felt nervous working with iconic superstar Sonakshi admitted, “On the first day of the shooting I candidly confessed to Rajni sir that I am felling nervous but he shrewdly made me at ease saying he himself was feeling nervous as I was his friend’s daughter.”

Speaking about her adaptability in Southern language Sonakshi Sinha avers, “The language is not an obstacle much because I have worked before with South directors like Prabhu Deva and A.R. Murugadoss, hence I am fairly comfortable with the language.”

The movie LINGAA is directed by directed by K.S. Ravikumar, who has earlier given hits like MUTHU and PADAYAPPA with Rajnikant. The movie is an action thriller and has Rajnikant in a double role. Sonakshi Sinha and Anushka Reddy will be the leading ladies. Music is composed by AR Rahman.  

Besides LINGAA Sonakshi Sinha is flooded with South films offers and the good news is that she has expressed her desire to work with South stars like Mahesh Babu, Ravi Teja and Surya, provided she gets good scripts.”

The legendary music directors turn 71 on June 2, 2014 hence to mark the great day 'Isaignani Fan Club', the registered fan club of Ilaiyaraja has decided to celebrate his birthday in a unique style. Instead of cutting the customary cake and having fun the fan club has decided to plant 71,000 saplings across the state of Tamil Nadu and save mother earth from global warming.

According to reports the club was officially launched on April 5, 2014 by Bhavadharani, daughter of Ilayaraja, along with her team at Madurai. Karthik Raja, the eldest son of the maestro, is the chairman of the club. The club boosts over 10 million registered members, including singers and musicians. The club has an official website and those ardent fans of Ilayaraja can get recent updates about Ilayaraja by logging on to www.isaignanifanclub.com.

The brainchild behind the club is P. Veluchamy, who has also produced a film ‘ORU OORLA’ having music by Ilaiyaraja. In an interview he said, “I have been cajoling Ilaiyaraja sahib to have an official club but Ilaiyaraja sahib always turned down my request as he wishes to have his music as the only connection between him and his fans but after several months of insistence I was able to influence him and he nodded.” He added, “Since Ilaiyaraja is a down to earth human being hence we decided to celebrate his birthday in such a way that appeals to him and when we purposed the idea of plating sapling he was overjoyed.”

Ilaiyaraja who has over 900 films to his credits in multiple languages and is presently busying busy composing tunes for R. Balki's yet-untitled Hindi film and few South Indian movies.
