Wanna know the song 'Aye Maalik Tere Bande Hum….’ Is sung as Morning Prayer in Pakistan?

Aye maalik tere bande hum, aysein hon hamaare karam

(Lord, you are our creator, so be our deeds

Naykee par chalein aur badhee se talein, taaki hastein huye nikale dum

(May we walk the path of righteousness and refrain from evil, So that we may depart fulfilled and smiling)

Wanna know that this spiritual song is such a hit that even today it is used as Morning Prayer in many schools in India. In fact the song is also used as Morning Prayer in few schools in Pakistan!!!

But do you know who has penned this soul stirring song from the black and white classic DO AANKHEN BARAH HAATH? I know the chances are less and only a few handful readers would know the poet though the song is super hit and is still a hot favorite of the younger generation.

Well the song has written by the legendary poet Poet Pandit Bharat Vyas, who has to his credit many more super hit songs like Aadha Hai Chandrama Raat Aadhee… (NAVRANG); Saranga Teri Yaad Me Nain Hue Bechain … (SARANGA); Aa Laut Ke Aaja Mere Meet… (RANI ROOPMATI); Nirbal Se Ladai Balvan Ki, Ye Kahani Hai Diye Ki Aur Tufaan Ki… (TOOFAN AUR DEEYA) etc. pays homage to the poet on his death anniversary that falls on July 5.

Born on 18th December 1918, in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, Bharat Vyas completed his higher school studies and later completed his B.Com degree. Bharat Vyas came to Bombay in the early 40's. During that time, Bharat Vyas had the dream to become a director and that was the main goal of his life. But, destiny took him to become a lyricist.

Under Prithiviraj Kapoor and filmmakers like V Shantaram, Bharat Vyas excelled as a poet of versatility. In a era where Urdu poets like Sahir Ludhianvi, Shakeel Badayuni, Kaifi Azmi etc ruled the roost Bharat Vyas, despite being a Hindi poet made a name for himself. Though he had tough competition from Hindi stalwart poets like Kavi Pradeep, Shailendra, Prem Dhawan, Pandit Vyas made his own identify.

Fundamentalist groups should attack fake Babas’ instead of movies like BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and MOHALLA ASSI

Salman Khan’s BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and Sunny Deol’s MOHALLA ASSI both dealing with religious backdrop have once again become throne in the eyes of fundamentalist groups, who had earlier raised hue and cry over Paresh Rawail’s OH MY GOD (OMG) and Aamir Khan’s PK.

Interestingly both OH MY GOD (OMG) and PK were super hits as the films buffs gave thumps up to both the films for exposing the so- called religious leader who bluff the devotees and create differences in the society.

According to reports while the Hindu nationalist group Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and its youth wing Bajrang Dal have objected to the title of Salman Khan’s film BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN citing it hurts Hindu sentiments, on the other hand an FIR has been lodged against actor Sunny Deol, director Chandra Prakash Dwivedi and writer Kasinath Singh claiming their movie MOHALLA ASSI hurt religious sentiments of people.

In reality both BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and MOHALLA ASSI are hard hitting comment on society. According to filmmaker Kabir Khan, “In BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN, Salman Khan plays a devout Hindu of Lord Hanuman and how he unites a five year old Pakistani girl lost in India. The film is an attempt to bridge communal harmony between India and Pakistan.”

Likewise filmmaker Chandraprakash Dwivedi, known for directing the 1991 television epic Chanakya said, “The film MOHALLA ASSI exposes the corruption and loot of the tourist who visit the holy city of Varanasi by the local priest. The film also raises question how the holy city has been reduced to a den of ganja, the ghats turned into a 'picnic spot' and Ganga into a swimming pool.”

Thus filmmakers since decades through their movies have voiced their concern against vices and have tried to educate the generation about evils of blind faith and inculcate brotherhood and harmony.

Hence instead of targeting filmmaker, I think fundamentalist groups should attack the likes of fake godmen like Nirmal Baba, Asharam Bapu, Aniruddha 'Bapu', Sant Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh and many more, who in broad day light cheat millions of gullible devotees and loot the national reservoir by evading crores of income tax?
