BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN reaches the prestigious Busan International Film Festival

After breaking all box office records and fast moving closer to the enviable 300 crore mark at the Box Office BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN has added yet another feather in its cap. The latest being the movie has been selected at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), regarded as one of the most significant film festivals in Asia.

Elated at the selection of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN at BIFF, Kabir Khan, movie’s director tweeted, “… Ab Pawan aur Munni Korea jayenge.”

It may be noted that BIFF, which was establishment in 1996, has been focusing on introducing and supporting new Asian directors and their films. BIFF is a non-competitive festival but it also operates a competitive program. In 1998, BIFF launched Asian Project Market (APM, former Pusan Promotion Plan/PPP) followed by Asian Film Market in 2006.

Salman Khan starrer BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN will be screened at the prestigious 20th Busan International film festival to be held in South Korea. The festival will be held between 1 to 10 October.

Amar Butala, CEO of Salman Khan Films, excited over the achievement, said, "It's an honour for Salman Khan Films that our first film as producers has been invited for Busan International Film Festival for screening in the Open Cinema section where new films, combining both art and mass popularity, along with internationally acclaimed works, are screened to an audience of 5,000.”

Terming the invitation of the film at BIFF as a matter of great pride Amar Butala, confessed, “The invitation to BIFF is an important recognition for our film. It will give a greater reach to our movie across the globe.”

What’s common between Dev Anand and Rajinikanth?

Well the question is quite baffling because there don’t seem much similarity between ‘Evergreen’ actor Dev Anand and ‘Thalaivar’ Rajinikanth

While Dev Anand was a debonair romantic hero who charmed his fans with his romantic movies, in sharp contrast South Sensation Rajinikanth is a dashing action hero who mesmerizes his fans with his unbeatable action and enchanting mannerism.

However a close observation reveals that the duo does share something common. Any guess?

Yes you have guessed it right! Both actors have the privilege of romancing with heroines half their ages!!!

If Dev Anand who, despite his age romanced multiple heroines who were in their 20’s and 30’s like Hema Malini, half his age, in JOHNNY MERA NAAM, or at the age of 49 romancing a newcomer Zeenat Aman in HARE RAMA HARE KRISHNA, or at the age of 55 with fresher Tina Munim in DES PARDES; likewise Rajinikanth has been fortunate to romance young Bollywood heroines and what is surprising Rajinikanth has done it with flamboyance.

Who can forget Rajinikanth’s fantastic chemistry with Manisha Koirala in BABA, where he had an age difference of almost 20 years and yet he managed to sizzle the screen.

Further he repeated the success with the beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in ROBOT (ENTHIRAN). In his daughter, Soundarya’s KOCHADAIIYAAN, Rajinikanth romanced with same elegance with Bollywood Diva Deepika Padukone.

Again he floored the audience with his pairing with Sonakshi Sinha in LINGAA, despite Sonakshi Sinha, being almost 40 years younger than Rajinikanth.

In his latest untitled film, directed by the two-film-old Pa Ranjith, Rajinikanth will be seen romancing with yet another young (29 years) and sexy Bollywood actress, Radhika Apte, who is making waves in Bollywood with films like BADLAPUR and grabbing national and international attention for her captivating performance in her recent short film AHALYA.

In addition her next upcoming film with Nawazuddin Siddiqui, MANJHI: THE MOUNTAIN MAN is also winning rave reviews.

Kareena Kapoor declares to become ‘Mother’ soon!

Motherhood is the ultimate dream of ever woman. She may be an ordinary woman, a royal princess, a successful entrepreneur or an actress. In nut shell ‘Motherhood’ is a high calling for all women — whether single, married, fertile or infertile.

Hence it should not come as a surprise that ‘Glamour Queen’ Kareena Kapoor, who married actor Saif Ali Khan in 2012, has eventually opened her heart about her plans for motherhood.

Riding high thanks to the success of BAJRANGI BHAIJAAN and her upcoming film with director R. Balki, an elated Kareena Kapoor and Saif in interview to a national daily bolding spoke at length about their family planning in coming future.

Saif Ali Khan admitted that the duo is enjoying their marriage and sooner or later they may start their family. “We may soon start our family as Kareena is greedy for ‘motherhood’ but is unsure when to begin.”

Speaking about her plans for motherhood Kareena Kapoor candidly confessed, “To become a mother is on top of my mind.”

On being poked to give details, she smiled and hinted, “May be within two years time from now.”

Saif informed, “These days Kareena enjoys the company of my children Sara and Ebrahim come from my ex-wife and insists on starting our family.”

Acknowledging Saif’s remark Kareena Kapoor, admitted, “Yes I enjoy having his family and mine over for meals. I love it when Sara and Ebrahim come over. I keep calling them to come over. But they don’t visit us as often as I’d like them to. They have their own social circle. Hence I am thinking of staring my family but waiting for the right time.”
