Priyanka Chopra, Rajinikanth and Sania Mirza receive Padma awards

Renowned and talented film personalities like Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra, South superstar Rajinikanth and ace singer Udit Narayan received Padma awards from President Pranab Mukherjee at the Rashtrapati Bhavan here on Tuesday, April 12.


Priyanka has been part of the Indian cinema for almost a decade and has made India proud. She is currently shooting for her American TV series- Quantico and also for her debut Hollwood film, ‘Baywatch’ opposite Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron. Priyanka received the Padma Shri as India’s fourth highest civilian honour.

Rajinikanth aka ‘Thalaivar’ has worked in both Hindi and Southern for three long decades. Rajinikanth was honoured with the Padma Vibhushan as India’s second highest civilian award. He was accompanied by his wife Latha Rajinikanth at the award ceremony.

Tennis star Sania Mirza also received Padma Bhushan from the President. Singer Udit Narayan was honoured with a Padma Bhushan as India’s third highest civilian honour, for his contribution to the world of music.
