Aamir Khan’s fans and movie buffs who have appreciated Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani directed film 3 IDIOTS (2009) have reasons to cheer as Mr. Perfectionist aka Aamir Khan has announced the sequel of 3 IDIOTS!!!
Speaking at the promotion of Rajkumar Hirani’s latest production SAALA KHADOOS staring Madhvan in the lead role, Aamir Khan, in the presence of Rajkumar Hirani said, “Raju Hirani has been silently working on the script of 3 IDIOTS and has given me a hint about the sequel. I have been bowled over by the idea. So film buffs keep your figures crossed for another dose of family entertainer 3 IDIOTS- 2!”
On being quizzed about the details about the sequel of 3 IDIOTS, Aamir Khan said, “Right now I am engaged in the shooting of DANGAL in which I play an aged wrestler weighing 98 kg, who encourages his daughter to make a career in wrestling, a sports regarded as the male sport.”
He added, “I have completed shooting for the aged father and now I am shedding weight to come back into my original shape as in the first half of the movie I play a young wrestler. I will have to lose 25 kilos to play the younger version of my character. I have already started working out on that. After DANGAL is complete I may focus my attention Hirani’s 3 IDIOTS!”
Confirming the news Rajkumar Hirani said, “Few months’ back I came up with an idea for the sequel of 3 IDIOTS. I discussed it with my co-writer Abhijat Joshi, who jumped over it and we began developing the plot. Later when we discussed the plot with Aamir Khan, he was really excited.”
“Though till now we are in the initial stages of writing I cannot reveal much about the sequel, but I can promise that film buffs can anticipate a sequel to 3 IDIOTS!” he quipped.
Truly, if there is any sequel of any movie that is most awaited by film buffs is that of Aamir Khan’s film 3 IDIOTS! One hope the filmmakers come up with the sequel soon!!!
