South superstar Vijay and yesterday heartthrob Sridevi’s much publicized film PULI may have failed to live short of the expectation of the audience and the critics alike but reports have it that Thalaiva Rajinikanth has been overwhelmed by the movie which he termed is a "perfect treat for family and kids".
Rajinikanth, despite his busy schedules for his upcoming film KABALI spared timed and watched the movie at a private screening. After watching the movie he was left awestruck by the spectacular sets and the mindboggling special effects.
Briefing media about his reaction on the movie Rajinikanth said, “I should say I'm amazed with PULI. The spectacular sets and the grand scale on which the film has been made are on par with Hollywood standards.”
Admiring the young and talented actor Vijay, who has played a costume drama for the first time in his career Rajinikanth said, “Vijay deserves special mention for his superlative performance.”
“As regards Sridevi I must say she has proved why she is the best actress in India. Her performance is the highlight of the film,” he added.
Though the movie received a set back during its initial release with IT raids and cancelation of shows but thanks to its huge publicity the movie has managed to earn Rs 32 crore with a net business of Rs 27 crore in the opening weekend. The coming days are crucial for the movie as the film has to make good business to recover its invested money of Rs 100+ crore.
One wonders will Rajinikanth’s applause for the movie give a boost to the film’s business?
