It took one decade for Star of Millennium Amitabh Bachchan to act opposite his dream actor thespian Dilip Kumar, when the duo shared screen in Ramesh Sippy’s SHAKTI (1982).
Incidentally it has taken over two decades for the rising star of Bollywood Nawazuddin Siddiqui to act opposite his beloved actor Amitabh Bachchan. The two would be seen clashing in Sujoy Ghosh produced upcoming film TE3N! The other highlight of the film is that it also features Vidya Balan in a pivotal role.
Elated at the announcement that he has been cast opposite Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said he considers himself fortunate to be sharing screen space with megastar Amitabh Bachchan.
He added, “"I have always had a dream of working with Mr Amitabh Bachchan. It is a coincidence that I am getting to work with such a big actor in my next film. I consider myself fortunate for having got this opportunity.”
What is most amazing is that Amitabh Bachchan himself had recommended Sujoy Ghosh to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui in the lead role when he heard the script.
Sunjoy briefing media said, “When I narrated a brief draft of the story to Bachchan sir, he was overwhelmed by the plot and immediately gave his nod for the film and suggested me to cast Nawazuddin Siddiqui opposite him stating that he is a great actor and he wished to act opposite him.”
It may be noted recently Amitabh Bachchan had acted opposite another brilliant actor Irrfan Khan in PIKU. Incidentally like PIKU, Sujoy Ghosh’s TE3N is also based in Kolkata. It looks into the woes of three common men residing in Kolkata. Hence director Ribhu Dasgupta plans the shooting in the city.
He is planning to wrap up the shoot schedule by the end of January 2016 and is looking for a mid-2016 release.
