Aamir Khan who is busy these days with his upcoming film DANGAL’s shooting since long has been aspiring to be part of Indian epic Mahabharata.
If readers could recollect in 2012 in a televised interview to a leading TV news channel Aaj Tak, Aamir Khan has expressed his ambition to make a movie on the epic Mahabharata but since he was committed with Rajkumar Hirani PK, Yash Raj Films DHOOM 3 and his social TV show SATYAMEVA JAYAATE 2. Hence he had postponed the idea.
But the latest news is that during the past three years Aamir Khan has been secretly working on the research and script of Mahabharata and the buzz is he has approached none other but Hollywood director, Mel Gibson to direct MAHABHARATA.
One would wonder why Aamir Khan has opted for a Hollywood director when India has so many talented directors like SS Rajamouli (BAAHUBALI), Sanjay Leela Bhansali (DEVDAS), Ashutosh Gowariker (JODHAA AKBAR) etc but as Aamir Khan is called Mr. Perfectionist hence like a perfectionist Aamir Khan has rightly chosen Mel Gibson because he is a specialist of epic period movies. Remember he won the prestigious Oscar Award as Best Director for his Hollywood epic BRAVEHEART in 1995
And that’s not all Aamir Khan’s MAHABHARATA will be exclusively shot at a studio in the US and has hired world’s most expensive and highly skilled US-based VFX Company to work on the visual effects of the film.
If rumors are to be believed the production team has started pre-production and set designing long back. The script is also already!!!
