Bollywood’s satirical comedy BANGISTAN lands in a soup in Pakistan

Eminent producer Ritesh Sidhwani, who made the super -hit Aamir Khan film DIL CHAHTA HAI is back with his latest satirical comedy BANGISTAN. However the movie has landed in a soup in Pakistan as the trailer of the film has touched the sentiments of the Pakistan government and they have declared to ban the film in Pakistan.

Stunned at the move Ritesh Sidhwani addressing media said, “I am shocked at the strange decision by the Pakistan government because one cannot judge a film’s content on the basis of a trailer.”

He added, “A trailer is bound to show a conflict and tension to generate curiosity among the viewers hence taking a decision of banning a film on grounds of trailer is baseless.”

Briefing about his film Sidhwani said, “I have created a fictional country called BANGISTAN which has its own passport, national flag and its own position on the world map. We have created a different world where people of all castes live in harmony and how two suicide bombers, Hafeez Bin Ali Ishwarchand Sharma (Riteish Deshmukh) and Allah Rakha Khan Praveen Chaturvedi (Pulkit Samrat), are brainwashed to create terror. However during their mission the duo realizes the futility of terrorism and exposes their masterminds.”

“Thus the movie is a sensitive comedy that brilliantly brings home the naked truth about how youth in India and Pakistan are brainwashed and enticed to join terrorism. The movie exposes the real faces of fundamentalists and political groups igniting terrorism by misguiding the youth in both the country,” he informed.

Ritesh Sidhwani has therefore written a letter to the Pakistan High Commission to send him an invitation letter so that he can show the movie to prove that it is not ‘anti-Pakistan’ but an eye opener against terrorism.
