Hence it is no surprise that every competent director of this generation desires to direct Amitabh Bachchan. One among the many is Rajkumar Hirani!
After a string of four super duper hits in a row viz. MUNNA BHAI MBBS (2003), LAGE RAHO MUNNABHAI (2006), 3 IDIOTS (2009) and PK (2014) Raju Hirani has established himself that he is the latest showman of Bollywood after the original showman Raj Kapoor and the next who took the reins from Raj Kapoor being Subhash Ghai.
In a recent press conference where Rajkumar Hirani was promoting his home production WAZIR staring Amitabh Bachchan and Farhan Aktar, Raju Hirani spilled the beans that he is writing a script exclusively for Amitabh Bachchan and hopes the actor will oblige his desire to direct him. “I am writing the script and I am confident by December 2015 it will be complete and then I wish to approach Bachchan Sahab,” he quipped.
Raju Hirani, who has the privilege of directing Amitabh Bachchan when he was working for advertising agency said, “I have a great admiration for Bachchan Sahab and his work. It is my fortune of directing the great actor in two advertisement films but the charm of directing him for a full fletch film is a secret dream that I have been toying since decades.”
On his experience of directing Amitabh Bachchan he said, “I have always been in awe of his talent and there has always been a fear while directing him though Bachchan Sahab as an actor is director’s delight and a very warm person.”
“Yet whenever I felt there was some alteration in the film shot I would hesitate to tell. Hence it is difficult to direct him because as a fan I have always been awestruck by his amazing talent,” candidly confessed Raju Hirani.
The news of Raju Hirani planning a film with Amitabh Bachchan has sent a wave of joy among film buffs because Hirani is known for delivery quality movies and when two talent of equal prowess unite the result is surely going to be dynamite!
