Once again WhatsApp and other Social Media shamed journalism by circulating fake rumors of superstar Amitabh Bachchan being seriously ill.
The rumor mills went viral on Sunday afternoon and spread like a forest fire because the news mentioned that Amitabh Bachchan had been infected by a serious infection and was hospitalized at Bandra’s Lilavati Hospital. To make the news authentic the pranksters had even put pictures of Amitabh Bachchan’s anxious son Abhishek Bachchan and mother Jaya Bachchan in despair!
However soon when genuine journalists jumped to scrutinize the authenticity of the news the learned that Amitabh Bachchan was hale and healthy and was spotted with his family attending a party organized by filmmaker Karan Johar at his Bandra residence late night on Sunday.
On further investigation as to how the rumor spread revealed that usually Amitabh Bachchan has the habit of entertaining his fans on Sunday but this Sunday he failed to appear hence his fans got anxious and the rumor spread.
A source close to Bachchan family informed, “Every Sunday Amitabh Bachchan Sahab comes out in the gallery of his bungalow and waves hand to his passionate fans, which throngs his bungalow, each Sunday in large number but this Sunday Bachchan Sahab did not appear as he was busing shooting for his upcoming film WAZIR.”
“However Bachchan Sahab had instructed his security guards about his schedule but unfortunately the guards goofed up. Instead of notifying Bachchan fans that Bachchan Sahab was busying shooting they erroneously informed them that Bachchan Sahab is ill thus the rumor went viral!,” lamented the source.
