Amyra Dastur, the Parsee babe from Mumbai, who is doing a Tamil film 'ANEGAN' opposite South Sensation, Dhanush is quite in awe of the star. In an interview she said, “Dhanush is such a huge star yet I was bowled over by his humility and down to earth attitude.”
She continued, “Being a Parsee and brought up in a sophisticated society, with English language as backdrop, I have problem in speaking Tamil language. When I began shooting for the film, I would fumble a lot and feel embarrassed but I was really touched by Dhanush, who motivated me all the time. To build my confidence he would often give his own example how he struggled with Hindi language while doing Raanjhanaa.”
Amyra who made her debut with Bollywood movie 'ISSAQ' is making waves in the Indian film industry and getting many offers both from Bollywood and South film industry. She is renowned for her television commercial advertisements like Clean & Clear, Dove, Vodafone and Micromax Mobiles.
Stimulated by her co-star Dhanush’s dedication to his profession and zero arrogance despite being such a big star, Amyra said, “Today when actor’s become snobbish and pompous soon after the success of just a single film, I am really in awe of Dhanush.”
She added, “He is not just a sensation down South but is a mega star in Bollywood after RAANJHANAA. What’s more he is also working with Amitabh Bachchan yet he has no ego or haughtiness. He arrives on time and surrenders completely to his directors, making no interference in the script or arguments over his dialogues. Truly he is a director’s delight and India needs many more actors like Dhanush!”
