One catchy song that comes to our mind is ‘Megam Kottatum’ from the movie  Enakkul oruvan. We see the Ulaganayagan doing some wonderful movies there. This song was a hit form this movie. Kamal Haasan and megam reminds us of another song from his other movie – Punnagai Mannan, one of the best made films by Balachander. In this movie there is a song called ‘vaan megam’ where the heroine – Revathy is seen dancing in the rain.

When there is rain, obviously there is a sign before. The sign comes in the form of dark clouds and this song ‘Megam karukudhu’ from the movie  Kushi tells us exactly that. With jothika doing some easy dancing for the song, the song captured the attention of all. A beautiful song on ‘megam’ is also ‘ ‘Megame megame’ from the movie Paalaivanacholai with Vani Jayaram singing the lead for this song.

Recent movies that had ‘megam’ in the lyrics would be the song ‘Megame oh megame’ a beautiful number in the movie Madraspattinam, sung by many including M.S.V too.

Many a times there is an attribution of the clouds with the woman too and a classic example would be ‘Venmegam penaaga uruvanatho’ from the movie Yaaradi nee mohini. Although a sober number, there was something catchy about the tune that many of us could associate with.
