Sonu Nigam - Kollywood Diaries

A prodigy, he began singing at the age of four with his father Agam Kumar Nigam.A true Mohammad Rafi clone as many say, Sonu Nigam infact made it big with his singing for the collections titled "Rafi Ki Yaadein".In the late 90's , he became more widely known to the Indian audience.Well , Raaga.com brings a twist to the famous Bollywood singer's career. Altough he has sung only quite a few songs in Tamil, it is amazing to note that he was widely acknowledged for his pronunciation  in perfect Tamil. Have you heard 'Varayo Thozhi' from the movie Jeans? Did it ever strike to you that it was Sonu Nigam who sang it? The song surfaced as a mega hit and was loved for the tempo and interesting visuals too. In a way, this song marked his entry to the amil music scene. Oru Naal Oru Kanavu movie released in 2005 featured Sonu's voice in about three songs in the album with even a solo for himself. Such is the powerful reach of the man's voice! Yet again Mumbai Express, which was released to both the Kollywood and Bollywood audience could tune in to Nigam's voice as he contributed four songs for the movie.

A beautiful composition by G.V.Prakash although stirred many heads in the industry. 'Aaruyire' from the movie Madraspattinam was loved by many. His soothing voice texture triggered a tear in the eyes of many lovers too. The same magic of his voice could be felt in the song 'Manasellam Mazhaiye' sung for the same music Director for the movie Saguni.'Vizhiyil' from the movie Kireedom starring Ajith and Trisha is another all time favourite for melody lovers, another classy hit by the singer. He has also sung with our very own Chithra amma in 'Sokkudhey' for the movie 'Kadhale Swasam'.

With his soulful rendition, he has melted the hearts of many. With his hardwork and passion for music,he has also managed to get a lot of accolades by winning various awards. His other talents include hosting reality shows as well. Cheers to the hardworker- Sonu Nigam.
