R.Raghuram, popularly known as 'Raghuram master,
passed away due to a heart attack on 30th November 2013. The man, aged
64 is undoubtedly a veteran choreographer in the Tamil industry and his
demise is a huge loss to the industry.
Grandson of Tamil Film director K. Subramaniam, he
made his debut as a child artist in the movie 'Padikaatha methai'.
Trained in Kathakali, Kuchipudi and Bharathanatyam and that too at a
very tender age, Raghuram was a undoubtedly a born dancer.
If you loved the dance steps in movies like 'Salangai Oli' and 'Punnagai Mannan', well, the credit goes to Raghuram master,
the man behind making many feet tap to tune. Raghuram master has also
choreographed for hindi movies like 'Ek Dhuje Ke Liye'. MGR's popular
movie 'Anbe Va' is also one classic and Raghuram was an Assistant
choreographer for this movie.The man whose career spanned for 50 years
in the industry, recently even worked for an upcoming flick 'Kaaviya
Thalaivan'.
His interest and knowledge in the film industry knows
no bounds as he went on to even produce and direct movies. Popular ones
include 'Vishwanathan Velai Vendum' and 'Uruvangal Maaralam'. He even
made the superstar act in a Bengali film titled 'Bhagya Debata'.Raghuram
himself has also acted in well known movies like 'Aruna Giri Nadhar'
and 'Thirumalai Deivam'. Infact 'Aruna Giri Nadhar' was a major break
for Raghuram although it was his debut project as a choreographer. The
new generation would have seen his acting in 'Dasavatharam' which
released a few years back.
