Although she made it big in the Kollywood industry with Mani Ratnam's Iruvar in 1997, not many know that she acted in another movie in 1996 titled Anandam.  'Hello Mr.' from Iruvar made it to the favourites list of many, which was sung by Harini. Jeans which released in 1998 set her base stronger in the Tamil film industry. Infact the song 'Poovukul Adhisayam' became famous for the different costumes worn by this beauty in the song.  With a gap for another two years, Aishwarya was welcomed back to Kollywood with Kandukondein Kandukondein. A brilliant musical by A.R.Rahman, 'Konjum Mainakale', 'Kandukondein Kandukondein' and 'Kanaamoochi' emerged as the hits of the album. Although not a long career exclusively with the Tamil industry, Mani Ratnam's Guru which released in 2007, which was dubbed in Tamil as well was liked by the Tamil audience. 'Aaruyire' song from the movie, a beautiful duet with its scintillating lyrics was loved by all. The following year, the magnum opus Jodhaa Akbar yet again dubbed and released in Tamil, dominated the screens for its grandeur and ofcourse the sheer brilliance in music by A.R.Rahman. 'Idhayam idammaariyadhe' , a romantic duet between Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan was welcomed by many. 'Manmohana', from the same movie was lauded for Aishwarya's involvement in acting; portraying extreme dedication in her expressions. The movie infact was nominated for so many awards and even won a lot of them including IIFA, Fimfare awards etc.

Exactly after two years, in 2010 she sizzled in the Tamil screens for Raavanan with Vikram and Prithviraj in the lead. In 'Vin Meengal' and 'Kalvare' songs in Shreya Ghoshal's voice, Aishwarya's graceful steps were appreciated. 'Kalvare' infact was choreographed by none other than the graceful dancer Shobhana herself.

The Kollywood industry saw her last in the same year (2010), where she shared the screen space with the Super star in Enthiran. Ofcourse all Aishwarya's fans loved her in 'Kilimanjaaro' and 'Irumbile Or Irudhayam'. One must applaud her graceful movements be it both western or classical genre.

Thus ends a glance of the Indian beauty's contribution to the Tamil Cinema. Let us wait and watch who welcomes her back in the Tamil Film Industry.
